This is my first attempt at building my own Hydroponics growing system. So far it works great! I chose the Ebb and Flow because It appeared to be one of the simplest to build. This is constructed mostly of things I had around the house.
A used laundry detergent bucket, well washed of course.
A Ziploc disposable food container.
Aquarium air pump.
Tabletop fountain water pump.
I had to purchase one foot of tubing,
Hydroton pellets,
and Net Pots from a Hydroponics store.
It was actually fairly easy to build but if you wish for me to explain exactly how I built it, just ask in my comments section.
If there is enough interest, I will make video about the construction.

This is the final update of my “Indoor Container Garden”. My new series will be my “Outdoor Container Garden” because I had to move everything outside.
The giant tomato plants snapped, fell over, and died. I have peppers that I’ve eaten and more on the way. I now have radishes, lettuce, eggplant, and other flowers in process of growing.

University of Minnesota extension professor Karl Foord explains how anyone can get their own herbs and vegetables by using the container gardening method, so whether you live in a large city, or just don’t want to have to till a garden, you can enjoy the fruits and veggies of your labor.

I am trying to get a nice indoor windowsill garden going, but have a very tight budget. So I’ve been saving used gallon milk jugs and Era clothes detergent containers to fashion into my ‘pots’.
The problem is, these containers are very ugly. I’ve tried painting them with some basic craft paint I have, but it rubs right off after it dries and makes a big mess.
Any ideas on how I can decorate these plastic containers to look less cheap, classy not gaudy, and easy to do at home?
How about this: Buy a roll of wide ribbon (3 or 4 inches wide) and folding it over the edge adhering it with a glue gun. You can get inexpensive ribbon "on sale" at any fabric or crafts store. The variety is endless. I really like this idea and might try it myself!
like hydrofarm, daystar, etc, etc.they are made there cheap.and sold here very expensive.
Usually police raid marijuana growers and seize hydroponic equipment.
It is resold at police auctions.
If you want to buy from china do a search.
I would like to know which herbs you can buy easily in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Calcutta… or some other places ?
and, please: is it easy to get fresh bunches of such herbs in the green market, or should you grow them in your own kitchen garden ?
In that case – if you should grow them – is it easy to obtain seeds ?
I know there is
coriander greens (dhania)
curry leaves (kadi patta)
fenugreek leaves (methi)
dill (sowa)
bay (tej patta)
mint (pudina)
basil (tulsi)
but can you find also
other herbs like
chives (chhoti pyaz)
thyme (banajwain)
parsley (ajmood)
rosemary (rusmari)
and any others you might think of ??
thank you so much in advance, for your consideration

Chives you can pretty much get in big cities –Thyme, Parsley Rosemary — I’d say grow your own. You can order seeds online or get them from the States.
Nice thought of growing a variety of green herbs. I would grow Oregano too, if I were you.– my favorite among western herbs, great for Italian dishes.
Squirrels are really messy eaters.. so, the crumbs they leave behind, our bluetits appreciate with relish. Thing is, the bluetits are getting really cheeky and now will land and feed on the windowsill regardless of events inside the kitchen (such as: me filming events on the windowsill!)
I have it so everyone here in my garden is happy ![]()
